The biennial International Hindi Association Convention has been the flagship event of IHA since its first edition in 1980 — bringing together Hindi-speaking communities, scholars, poets and policy makers from across the United States, Canada and India.
About the IHA National Convention
The International Hindi Association's National Convention is the principal gathering of the IHA family. Held since 1980 — initially annually, and biennially since the 1990s — the convention rotates among major US chapters and brings together members, chapter representatives, scholars, poets, and friends of Hindi from around the world.
Every convention is anchored by a theme that reflects the issues of the day for Hindi as a global language. Past themes have included Hindi in the New Century, Teaching of Hindi in North American Universities, Hindi in the Globalisation Age, Hindi Education in the Younger Generation, Hindi and the Youth, Hindi Language & Indian Culture, and Hindi — Definition of Indian Unity.
